An interesting week for WMC staff. In addition to ongoing analytical testing and research projects, FGIS will visit WMC to conduct the annual TCK validation of the 2021 test results. Also this week, the 2022 Pacific Northwest Wheat Quality Council is meeting in a virtual format with Bon, Jayne and Andrew in attendance. Bon will present end-product results for 22 new varieties being considered for market release; he made sponge cakes from seven soft white wheat samples, bread from 15 hard wheat samples, and Asian (raw) noodles with the HWW samples. Brent is developing schedules for the upcoming growers’ workshops from Oregon and Montana. Janice is working on annual funding proposals for several state wheat commissions. WMC’s eight state stakeholders provide about 75% of our operating budget each year. WE APPRECIATE OUR STATE PARTNERS! For a list, CLICK HERE.
