Wheat Marketing Center has selected a new Executive Director.

Portland, OR - The Wheat Marketing Center has selected a new executive director to manage its research and education operations. The Executive Board, headed up by WMC Board Chairman Bill Flory (Idaho Wheat Commission), and the Search Committee, chaired by Board Vice Chair David Clough (North Dakota Wheat Commission) announced the appointment of Janice Cooper during the WMC board meeting in Portland yesterday.

"Janice has spent six years as the Executive Director of the California Wheat Commission and has relevant industry and management experience," said Clough. "We believe that her skills and experience, combined with the talents of the outstanding WMC staff, will carry the Wheat Marketing Center to a new level of excellence."

"The interests of WMC's stakeholders, partners and customers are of paramount importance to the board," continued Flory. "We are looking forward to welcoming Janice to the WMC team." Flory further noted that the existing staff has done a stellar job in delivering programs in the past several months. "They didn't miss a beat," said Flory

Cooper will begin her new position on December 1. "I am very excited about this new challenge," said Cooper. "The U.S. wheat industry is facing many challenges in markets around the world. Through its education and research programs, the Wheat Marketing Center promotes U.S. wheat by helping customers explore the best ways to gain the full value U.S. wheat quality."
